NDRF DG SN Pradhan said Cyclone Yas has turned into a severe cyclonic storm, with winds expected to increase by evening. It may exceed 160–185 km / h tomorrow. The NDRF has about 115 teams deployed in 5 states and 1 union territory, including 52 in Odisha and 45 in West Bengal.
38 trains also canceled
Earlier, in view of the cyclone, the railway has canceled 38 trains going to South and Kolkata between 24 to 29 May. Railways have assured that the ticket money will be refunded to the passengers.
