Whenever Gautama Buddha's name comes to my mind, one of his stories is remembered. Anecdote, once upon a time he was communicating with his disciples, then a man full of anger came and started to loudly abuse them. Mahatma smiled and listened in a very calm manner. The Buddha kept listening to him until he was tired. The disciples were being filled with anger. That person was also surprised, he gave up and asked the Buddha, "Why don't you answer my bitter words?" Buddha said in the same calm sense, 'If you want to give me something and I don't take it, then who will keep that stuff?' The person said, "Surely he will stay with me." The Buddha said, "With whom did your abuses remain?" The person fell at the feet of Gautam. ' This was the power of Buddha. This is the essence of intelligence. Forgiveness, moderation, abandonment. I think these things are needed most today.
Today is Buddha Purnima. Today Mahatma Buddha was born. The government is organizing it as 'Vaishakh: 2565th International Buddha Purnima Day'. I think Buddha is very helpful with his inspiring life and education in such a difficult time. His ideal life, his education, can show us the path, which can be taken out of times of calamity, can be fought with difficulties. This time of Corona has forced us to return to many basic aspects of our great culture. It has assured us that the standard life we have talked about for centuries, the values and values that we have tried to establish in our lives, are timeless. Their relevance in the difficulty has been established again and again and will continue to happen.
The contribution of Gautam Buddha to the human values that we have carried in our lives from generation to generation is unforgettable. The sense of compassion that is generated within us, the feeling of helplessness appears, the words of Buddha have a great contribution in establishing these things in the mind. Buddha has captured the greatest agony of our lives through a very easy-sounding sentence like 'Trishna at the root of every sorrow'. He has exposed the greatest agony of our lives. If we look at all the pains and sorrows of life, one thing will be found in the root - 'craving or greed'. Gautam Buddha was lost from childhood in search of answers to such questions. He was clear that the real happiness lies not in saving, but in sharing. Seeing the world miserable himself, he left the Rajpat and left for the forest to retire.
It is very difficult to give up family, to leave splendor. Then what is the point of the majestic splendor! But he left and gave the same message. He remained unfazed in the same way in front of hundreds of hurdles in search of truth. His message is 'App Deepo Bhava' i.e. become your own light. The Buddha explains that the greatest victory is to publish or conquer oneself. This nectar can give you true peace amidst hatred today.
Buddha Purnima is celebrated as a festival in many countries including Japan, Korea, China, Nepal, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia. The Department of Culture and ASI have done a lot of work for the preservation of the Buddhist pilgrimages of our country, Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, Kushinagar, Sanchi. These places attract Buddhist followers from all over the world. Apart from the teachings of the Buddha, one can also see the amazing architecture of the monuments.
If we take down their messages in our life on the day of Buddha Purnima, then know for sure that we will all be able to create better country, better world and most sophisticated human and human values.
