The vaccination campaign for the prevention of corona virus is in full swing in Maharashtra. People are registering for corona vaccination and have to line up for vaccination, but the situation in rural areas is the opposite. People here are shying away from the Kovid vaccination.

On Tuesday, the health department vaccinated 11 tribals under a tree on the banks of the Narmada in a village in Nandurbar district. The team of the department arrived here after traveling for four hours on rivers and mountains.

There were more than 150 beneficiaries in three villages
Akkalkuwa Tehsildar Ramji Rathod, who led the team, said that despite all his efforts, only 11 people over the age of 45 took the first shot at Chimalakheri. While seven were from villages, four were from neighboring villages of Manibelli and Sinduri. There are more than 150 eligible beneficiaries in these three villages but only 11 came for vaccination.

Had to climb a mountain to register in the CoWin app
Rathore said that mobile connectivity is a major issue in Chimalakhedi. To register the beneficiaries on the CoWin app, connectivity was required, for this a member of the team had to climb a hill near the village. He said that the vaccination was finally done under the tree only when the officials felt that vaccination could be done safely and comfortably there.

So the team sitting under the tree
Officials said that there are two government infrastructure in the village. But we could not use the local school building because there was a lot of heat inside. In addition, the local Anganwadi center is being renovated. Since we could not campaign in the small houses of the villagers, we decided to place the vaccine under a tree on the banks of the Narmada River.
