In the second wave of Corona in Rajasthan, the farmers have been given great relief from the state government. Under this, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal of the Cooperative Department, under which a provision has been made to provide five percent subsidy interest to farmers for payment on long-term loan installments from Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks. Now this subsidy interest has been extended till 30 June 2021. Earlier, its deadline was 31 March 2021. It is noteworthy that farmers who have damaged the crop due to heavy rains and hailstorms have not been able to take advantage of the scheme in different districts due to COVID-19 epidemic.
According to the statement issued by the Cooperative Department, the Chief Minister has decided to extend the duration of the scheme till June 30 to give the benefit of interest subsidy to more and more farmers. The period for repayment of short term crop loans distributed for the Kharif season 2020 by the Department of Cooperation has also been increased from 31 March to 30 June 2021. These decisions of the state government will provide relief to the farmers in the critical times of the epidemic. Large number of farmers will get benefit in repayment of agricultural loans and payment of installments.
Earlier, relief was given through cheap loans
Let us know that earlier this month a new loan scheme has been issued by the Gehlot government to give relief to the farmers. In this, farmers will be able to take loan at 3% interest by keeping the livelihood of their crop, while 7 percent interest will be borne by the State Government from the Farmers Welfare Fund. Under this, an important decision has been taken to give a grant of 50 crore rupees per year from the Farmers Welfare Fund to the Sahakar Kisan Kalyan Yojana, so that the farmers are directly benefited. Before that, only 2 percent interest was borne by the state government.
