Preliminary investigation has revealed that this leakage took place in the sewerage treatment plant of Govind Nagar located on Amer Road. This sewerage treatment plant operated by the municipal corporation had two cylinders filled with chlorine gas. Out of these, a cylinder filled with 900 liters of chlorine gas was leaked. As soon as the gas started leaking, the workers immediately put it in an empty cistern and filled it with water. However, the leak did not stop and complaints of gas burning and suffocation of people kept coming from the gas in Govind Nagar, Municipal Corporation Colony and Shankar Nagar etc.

The cylinder was empty till 10 in the morning, located under control
Bharat Singh Rathod, SHO of Brahmpuri police station said that after putting the cylinder in the water tank, its firepower was greatly reduced.
