Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 'Vesak Global Celebrations' on Wednesday on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. This collection will be virtual. PM will participate in the Samaraeh through video conference. This information was given in a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC). It will include the supreme heads of Buddhist associations around the world.

According to the PMO, more than 50 prominent Buddhist religious leaders of the world will address the ceremony.

Vesak-Buddha Purnima is celebrated as the birth of Gautama Buddha, attainment of enlightenment and Maha Parinirvana Day.
