Nagpur
Oxygen is now apparently rare despite being readily available in nature, as governments are gasping to get liquid medicine oxygen (LMO) stock to treat severe COVID-19 patients amid the second wave of the Corona epidemic. In this crisis, OS Khushroo Pocha of the Central Railway (CR) Commercial Department in Nagpur has come up with a unique solution. Their goal is to provide oxygen to the tribals in the city of Vidarbha and the urban poor or slum dwellers.

Pocha explained, 'I have seen a severe shortage of oxygen, especially in small hospitals in areas where patients are dying anywhere. I tried to help people who can't buy an oxygen cylinder or cylinder, and there are even some people who can buy oxygen, but there is no oxygen available. ' Accordingly, Railman released a global SOS for Oxigen last month through its social media and charitable organizations. The first to respond was a 17-year-old boy and 3 engineering students, who immediately donated 1–1 oxygen constructor. But a pleasant surprise came from the Parsis in Abu Dhabi, who donated 40 top-class Turkish oxygen constructors and airlifted them to Pocha.

People contributed
Pocha said, 'It was like a divine gift. I gave 6 oxygen constructors to Dr. Ashish Satav Mahan Hospital for the exclusive use of the tribals of remote Melghat region of Amravati. The other 6 farmer leaders were given to the tribals of Melghat area of Yavatmal through Kishore Tiwari. The rest was given to poor people in the form of oxygen loans to Nagpur and other cities.

Problem of poor tribals
Pocha explained, 'Many government and private hospitals insist after treatment, the patient must remain on oxygen for at least one month. But, how can the poor patient or the Adivasi be able to enforce it. Such patients are kept in the hospital, which deprives other needy patients from treatment. 'According to Pocha,' With the increasing demand from tribal areas in Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia and Wardha, we are now poor tribals or slum-dwellers. Looking for 60 Oxygen constructors of similar quality for the people living in the hut. '

Tulsiram Bhaisare, a tribal patient from Nagpur, was forcibly kept in a government hospital. His test was negative and he could not be discharged as he could not afford an oxygen constructor in his small residence. His grateful daughter Priyanka Bhaisare said, 'I appealed through NGO Seva Kitchen and the day we got a delivery, my father was discharged, now he is using it at home and recovering.'

Railway Minister explained the achievements
The last time the lockdown was at its peak, through the 'Seva Kitchen' initiative, Pocha and his team of 1000 volunteers collected and donated nearly Rs 50 lakh of food or aid through online appeals only. Impressed by this achievement, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called Pocha the next morning, while Railway Minister Piyush Goyal proudly tweeted the achievements of his 'railway family' member the next day.
