CM Naveen Patnaik said that he does not want to put additional burden on the Center during the time of pandemic. Instead Naveen Patnaik highlighted the need for Disaster Resilience Power Systems and Coastal Storm Surge Protection from the Center to the State. The move of the Odisha CM is being widely appreciated on social media.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted after the review meeting, "The Kovid-19 epidemic is at a peak in the country, in such a situation, we have not asked for immediate financial help, putting additional burden on the Center." He further wrote, 'We will manage it with our own resources to deal with the crisis'.

The Odisha CM said in another tweet, 'We have sought the help of long-term measures to make Odisha a disaster resilient as we face such climate threat every year. We highlighted Odisha's demand for Disaster Resilient Power Infrastructure and Resilient Protection Storm Surge Resilient at the meeting.

Giving information about the meeting, Odisha's SRC Pradeep Kumar Jena said, "We have made two demands instead of the relief package from the Center - Disaster Resilience Power System and second Coastal Storm Surge Protection."
