Therefore, the remaining 69 samples were tested in genome sequencing at NCDC. Apollo's Group Medical Director, Dr. Anupam Sibal, said that the mutated virus was found in genome sequencing. B.1.617.2 strains were found to cause infection in 47.83% and in addition infections of B.1 and B.1.1.7 strains were also found.
